Queen Victoria passing Calshot
Cunard liner Queen Victoria passing Calshot on 2nd April 2008, at 19:45 hrs.
It's easy to compare this vessel with
Queen Mary 2. The bow is a different shape and the stern more angled. The other parts of the superstructure are differently arranged, although I'm not entirely sure what each of the round things are, maybe somebody can tell me. The hull also seemed a different shade of dark blue, perhaps because she's newer than the QM2. (The colour seems to change slightly against the white background - you could try it out by clicking the little white box top left of this web page.)
The fog horn was sounded, a higher pitch than QM2, it still made the air vibrate. The sound would carry a huge distance at sea
