Stunning colour. Wonderful shapes. Great crop. Nice one Ellie!
Ellie: Thanks Jimbo
Ellie that's wonderful, it almost took my breath away. That's in the same space as Debs. Jesus I wish you girls would stop raising the bar !
Ellie: First time I've ever had tulips in the garden, and probably the last if the slugs and squirrels have their way, so I made the best of it while I could. Poke a lens into the flower, you'd end up with the same sort of picture
Nice way to start your next 100 pictures! Detail is wonderful in this picture.
Ellie: Yes, that's the scary bit ... downhill all the way from here!
Brilliant...subject and image...AND title. Certainly the best image I have seen of a tulip.
Ellie: Thanks Ray.
I'm trying very hard to learn from other people's pictures, and get in close ... there are some wonderful flower photographs on here. Have you looked through Eclectic's archive for example?
This is pure magic. Bravo!
Ellie: Thanks Kay
too good Ellie!
Ellie: I wouldn't mind betting you could do better
Beautifully done, Ellie. Very nice detail. -mary beth
Ellie: Thanks Marybeth
Excellent macro! I tried something similar last weekend, but could not get the darn flower to hold still because of the wind.
Ellie: It's amazing, isn't it .. go out with the camera to photograph flowers and a sneaky breeze appears from absolutely nowhere!
I've seen clamps you can buy, to hold them still, but knowing me I'd end up breaking the flower off and ruining the whole thing. I've thought about using pipe cleaners .... Thanks Martin
Great colors Ellie. Nature actually is a wonderful teacher
Ellie: It is, isn't it, if only we can take a moment to look and learn
Wow xhat a brillant red... And really nice shapes
Ellie: Merci Roland
Love the bold shapes and colors
Ellie: Thanks Urv
This is a really lovely shot Ellie. The only tulip in our garden is one like this. Hmmm, I wonder if I....
Ellie: ... and I bet it'll be better
For some odd reason all the tulips that have come back this year on the plot are purple and lilac???????? Global warming, who knows, anyhow nice to see a vibrant red one and especially from this close up!
Ellie: Bizarre indeed, but then tulips apparently succumb to all sorts of viruses. Maybe you've got a rarity? That'd be good, wouldn't it?
Hot !!!
Ellie: Looks it, but it's blooming cold out there today!
Very good colors and details in this macro, Ellie!
Ellie: Thank you Jose. Yes, they are the colours of Spain in a different pattern
Stunning - another winner - there is no stopping you at the mo is there ellie?
Ellie: Oh yes, believe me there aren't many more good ones left!
Great red color
This is a fab macro shot Ellie
Ellie: Thanks Magnus
Very nice macro. Great colors!
Ellie: Thanks Frank
awesome filling of the image and space
Ellie: Not a patch on some of your beautiful flower portraits Chantal
I like how you have composed it – the position of the yellow line is perfect...
Ellie: It's really strange, the single yellow line in an otherwise red flower. I tried to line it up with the corner when I took the picture. I'm glad you think it works
Interestingly good new veiw of a image we see everyday
Suby
Ellie: Thanks Suby. So, when're you going to be taking flower pictures?
Wow Ellie, now that really is a flower picture. Stunning.
Ellie: Thanks a million Lilith, I'll have to try to find a puppy now ...
Nature is always way ahead of us, Ellie, isn't she! See how much we learn from her!!! Brilliant.
Today must be the day for tulips.
Ellie: You're not kidding she's ahead of us Ginnie. And now I'm off to look carefully at your tulips, I spotted the thumbnail earlier
Brilliant color. Good close up.
Ellie: Thanks Hick
good macro, strong colour...
Ellie: Thanks Sam
Lovely vibrant colours and facinating geometry - love the yellow line....
Ellie: Thanks Aksel, I tried to line up the yellow stripe with the corner of the picture when I took it, I'm glad you think it was worth it
Well, Ellie, this is perfect. The image is pure, bright, well balanced, nicely contrasted. A wonderful picture, just as I like them ! Bravo !
Ellie: Thank you Florence
This is a fantastic macro. I've never seen anything like it.
Ellie: Try shoving your camera inside a tulip and you never know what you might find
Red Riding Hood (I think
Ellie: Nope, unnamed "value" pack of 24 from a supermarket
You OK?
And what can I say after all the admiration? Excellent composition and this was with the standard lens i gather.
Ellie: You have to say what you think, which might include something negative.
Yes, this is with the 14-42 kit lens, cropped in close.
Two comments on one photo, what am I thinking of
PS. I don't think Suby will ever take flower pictures
Ellie: Brainstorm Steve?
Yes, you're absolutely right about the little spot, but it was there on the flower so I left it where it was. Would look much better without it. ... and no, I don't think he will either!
Wow! Stunning picture - so vivid!! (& no rust!)Thanks for your comment too! In fact seeing your tulip reminded me I hadn't uploaded my one - not as good as yours tho!! ;-)
Flippin heck El! This is gorgeous, i'm looking hard but there is absolutely nothing to fault! Oh, just thought of one fault, I did not take it! lol. it fantastic Ellie. mal
Very well done, the draw of this flower is really wonderful (and the shot is very well done) A sun light in my day !
Ellie, love the macro! I like the way you've balanced the bright yellow line on the right by having the center of the tulip a little to the left. Good job! Janelle
rich red colour.
great.
Bold! Nature never ceases to amaze.
