Long-tailed Tit, Aegithalos caudatus

Bedraggled

Taken last week, this gives some idea of what our little garden bitrds have had to put up with. It was as dark and wet as it seems.

This is a Long-tailed Tit Aegithalos caudatus

They're usually fast moving and very chirpy little birds, this one still looks proud, but it was totally fed up.

We've got at least two separate pairs visiting our bird table at the moment, at other times of the year they come in noisy gangs, grab something to eat and then vanish - leaving a lot of silence behind them.

The coconut shell was, unfortunately, damaged during recent storms when the bird table was blown over.
