Excellent! This mad me laugh, something that rarely happens when I look at architecture.
Beautiful image, Ellie.
I have never seen a building ornament quite like it, and it caused me to react rather like Martin.
Wonderful Ellie! The builder (or architect) must have had a great sense of humour!
Wow Ellie I wonder how long it took to carve that stunning piece. Nice shot
Heavens Ellie: I've never seen anything like this before!
Amazing capture Ellie. I like the perfect symmetry and the tones here!
Me too, never seen anything like this before, very impresssive and certainly a change from the old gargoyle.
Well spotted, Ellie.
Very impressive stonework Ellie.
Very interesting building
Every building should have one.
This is exactly why I love EUROPEAN architecture, Ellie! There's always a surprise. That's one of the best architectural surprises I've ever seen.
What a funny place to park a ship Ellie! Seriously a good sighting and capture.
Nicely seen Ellie
Architecture with a twist
Lovely detail. Does the building have a naval connection?
Well spotted Ellie and well presented. It often pays to look up. So unusual wel done.
Hi Ellie! Thanks for stopping by.
This is a cool shot! It brings me back to Cascais! I was there last summer
Very nice eyes to notice that ! Very interresting too !
Great find and picture.
I read that your resident student is soon to be off to China. My recently qualified (ex)student daughter did some practical in Beijing and travelled allover Asia in the process. Mongolia, many Chinese provinces including Tibet, Vietnam (travelled on her own through the place with a motorbike) and Hong Kong. Did she have a lot to tell - and excellent pictures.
Well spotted Ellie - a fitting monument to a sea-faring nation!
Ingrid
