Looks like the real deal ;o) Certainly puts the lamp in its place!
Ellie: It certainly is the real deal, about 6ft high
The size perspective is fascinating.
Ellie: One of those things that's hard to show the size, which is why I kept the lamp in the picture
Great comparison! That thing must be very heavy!
Ellie: I couldn't even imagine trying to move it, even though it's firmly attached to the wall.
Looks like this anchor might have been lost overboard from Astrid's sailing ship.
Ellie: Ah, did her ship sail off into the sunset?
LOL at Ray! Even Astrid would have problems with this anchor. More like "anchors aweigh"...anchors that weigh too much!
Ellie: Ah, but, you see, if they didn't weigh a lot they wouldn't work as well, would they?
The establishment was the Keg and Anchor. When they open a keg you remain anchored to your seat.
Great picture.
Ellie: Now that's a good name for a pub!
Now thats one large anchor!! or a small lamp...
Lovely shot Ellie
Ellie: Ordinary sized lamp, honestly
This anchor would hold a large vessel in a strong tide
Ellie: I would hope so. I wonder what happened to the ship?
There is plenty of water and rust on show today, Ellie. I like your contribution.
Ellie: Mmmm, rust!
There's no real size comparison here Ellie but I would guess this is a very hefty piece of maritime kit
Ellie: No, that's why I left the lamp in, which is an ordinary sort of lamp, not a huge one from a ship.
Great picture, the lamp tells us just how big this is!
Ellie: ... and the little blocks that make up the pavement are about 3 inches square-ish. but you wouldn't know that unless you've seen them for yourself. It was difficult to show the sheer size of the thing.
Great capture Ellie. The lamp gives us the scale.
Ellie: It gives an idea of the size, that's what I'd hoped for.
Wow !
Thats an Anchor for a giants boat Good Pic !
Ellie: Certainly not one for the average dinghy, that's for sure
Such a simple arrangement Ellie and as the others have said it looks pretty hefty.
Ellie: Certainly pretty hefty, about 6ft high
Just try moving that thing to sweep under it !
Ellie: Hmm, looks as if they don't try too hard
Simple but effective, Ellie. I like the lamp which shows the size of the anchor to be huge, by the look of it!
Ellie: Around 6ft high I think, huge!
